VoiceCom
VoiceCom is an Ampcontrol designed multi station audio communication system suitable for longwall and conveyor applications in underground coal mines.
Incorporating prestart alarm, controlled start / stop, as well as voice messaging and intercom facilities, the system comprises two main components: the VCA VoiceCom controller and the VAA VoiceCom amplifier field units.
The VCA controller controls two communication lines with up to 31 amplifiers per line (dependent on cable electrical parameters, cable length and VAA charging current). It provides for seamless communication between the two lines and controls and monitors the prestart alarm via a digital communication link. Digital and/or Modbus serial inputs control playing of pre-recorded messages.
The VAA amplifier is the field communication module for the VCA controller and has an internal microphone and two speakers. Four buttons are provided for controlling the transmit and calling functions as well as an LCD to assist with trouble shooting. The unit is mounted in the Ampcontrol stainless steel IP66 housing which can also accommodate speakers, start / stop control and lanyard stations.
Extensive diagnostics are available from each VAA including battery voltage, battery current and line voltage. This provides for reduced maintenance and fast system restoration.
Voice Messaging
Voice message banks are created using a PC standard WAV file format. The VCA can play up to 255 messages depending on message format.
